Byron, and our beach is so awesome today, with the rain out to sea in the south, amazing Michelangelo clouds to the northeast, a low rainbow to the south, and another storm behind Byron Headland to the far south – the scene just rips at my chest in pure awe, especially the massive white thunderheads.
Mother Nature-I had always thought that she has her ways of staying in balance and might create some sort of compound to kill off our pollutants and overheating activities from damaging her too much that we humans can no longer live here.
Within one month, a huge number of the world’s population have been thrown into utter chaos and gigantic disruption, and individual self-awareness and self-care focus in isolation from habitual actions and norms. Not much to distract us while millions wait to find out who is going to pay for food, the bills, and rent from the government packages, and which industries will survive or reinvent themselves, and in what form.
Soon, even more lockdown, with enforcement by police or military, and fossil fuel traffic in the sky and on the roads reduced, plus energy consumption except for cooking more at home or coming home with restaurant takeaway to have – for those who have one- in the family home or shared households with others, just as questioning the future.
Meanwhile, Mother Nature is ticking off the presumed drop in pollution and heat?
And of course, many are dying, usually the ones with pre-existing conditions, while everyone else is under threat of who has ‘it’ or not.
I sometimes forget to wash my hands at the right times, or I stand too close to someone, but that is not yet a big factor in an area with 17 cases and a fairly well-equipped local hospital. Texting a friend in Spain – and she and her family are all okay, but the hospital system has broken down. Imagine people not being able to be treated, or hospital staff not being able to follow hygiene basics and self-protection because of a lack of supplies and resources. They are truly noble to show up, and I keep longing for sensible leadership everywhere to provide all the right supplies, equipment, financial aid, and care for all my fellow humans.
